LEAD DOG CULTURE

"If you’re not the lead dog, the view never changes."

OUR PHILOSOPHY

There’s a saying at SUI that we’ve heard frequently from our founder, Roddy McKinney, over the years: “If you’re not the lead dog, the view never changes.”

This saying, originally attributed to Robert Benchley’s character in the 1946 film The Road to Utopia, has been embraced by all SUI team members. We aim to be the Lead Dog in everything we do. We always give our best. There is a relentless pursuit of perfection and a passion for winning at SUI. Our Lead Dog culture is one of collaboration, constant learning, adaptability, and upstanding character.

While our Core Values were first introduced in 2013, they came about organically thanks to this saying and the inherent corporate culture it helped develop.

Our Purpose

Improving Lives Through Bold, Unmatched Field Service Excellence

At our core, we believe our greatest strength is our ability to find, train, and grow exceptional people. By investing in our team, we empower them to deliver outstanding customer experiences across a wide range of field service industries. But the impact doesn’t stop with our customers. We create opportunities for our team members that may not exist elsewhere—opening doors to meaningful careers, personal growth, and a better future. In doing so, we don’t just improve the lives of those we serve—we improve the lives of those we serve with.

“Improving Lives Through Bold, Unmatched Field Service Excellence” is more than our purpose—it’s the pursuit that drives everything we do.
